Sunday Notices – 11 October

Hi everyone,

If you want to catch up on this morning’s service, you can find it here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SeSqs1O1JOgDcUefXz0WZkqzYIDzdJRu/view?usp=sharing

Here are the notices for today:

St Stephen’s FAB Church, 18th November 3.30pm

A service for children and their families, starting monthly. There will be crafts, action songs, a talk and prayers – and, of course, bears (FAB stands for families and bears)! We want to be able to welcome children back to the building for worship, and whilst children’s groups aren’t happening and Sunday mornings at church aren’t the easiest for younger ones to access, we’re hoping this will be a good way for families to reconnect in person. Please note that those aged 11+ will need to wear face coverings, families will be seated in households/bubbles for the service, and children will need to be accompanied and supervised by an adult member of their household/bubble at all times.

APCMs (annual meetings)

St Stephen’s meeting will be held on Tuesday 3rd November at 7.30pm
St Matthew’s meeting will be held on Monday 9th November at 2pm
These are the meetings where we hear an update of what’s been going on in church over the last year (or 18 months in this case due to coronavirus delays!), and elect churchwardens and PCC (church council) members. More details to come, but we’re hoping to have the option to attend either in person at church or online on Zoom. Please pray about who you think could serve our churches on PCC and as churchwardens. If you want to nominate someone (please ask them first!) you can use these forms, or ask for printed copies.

Electoral Roll

To be able to vote at the APCM you need to be on the electoral roll of church (basically a membership list). St Matthew’s list is at the back of church to check, or contact Jimmy/Judith if you want to check you’re on it. St Stephen’s, look out for a separate email with a list to check. If you want your name to be added, please ask us for a form.

Parish pixels competition

St Stephen’s didn’t win the competition (with our picture of Naomi dancing), but we’re really pleased for Freedom Church from Blackpool who did! Thanks to everyone who supported us and voted.

Here is a Harvest prayer for today:

Eternal God,
you crown the year with your goodness
and you give us the fruits of the earth in their season:
grant that we may use them to your glory,
for the relief of those in need and for our own well-being;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen

Hannah
