Sunday Notices – 18 October

Hi everyone,

The service link for today is here. It may still be uploading, so if it doesn’t work please check back later. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HPDZP-wQSaHo-40ggOUrc7DfkrpLr7S7/view?usp=sharing

Notices this week

St Stephen’s FAB Church

We had our first session this afternoon of ‘families and bears’ church for children and their families! Our next one will be on Sunday 15th November – current and new families welcome so feel free to tell friends and neighbours. We’re planning to do them every 3rd Sunday in the month, so save the dates.

St Stephen’s in the News!

You can read about the work of St Stephen’s and SHINE in this wonderful write up in the Observer today https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/oct/18/churches-tally-up-their-value-to-society-at-124bn

24/7 Prayer week 1st-8th November

Molly is taking a lead on planning this and would love ideas from other people about what to put in prayer packs for people to use at home. If you can help, get in touch with her directly or reply to this email and I’ll link you up.

Electoral rolls

Please check in church, or on the list emailed round to St Stephen’s, that your name appears on our electoral roll if you attend St Stephen’s or St Matthew’s Church, and if you want to be able to have a say at our upcoming meetings. Forms are available in church or you can reply to this email and I’ll send you one. Forms need to be back by 1st November please.

APCMs and elections

St Stephen’s meeting is 3rd November at 7.30pm, St Matthew’s meeting is 9th November 2pm. These will be in church – though if you prefer to join via Zoom that will be an option too. We will need to elect churchwardens, PCC members, and diocesan synod reps – see last week’s email for links to nomination forms. If you want to know what being on PCC involves, Sam did a great video – catch up in the service link above! Nominations need to be back by 31st October please.

Raitt family moving house

Also to let you know we’re moving up to St Matthew’s Vicarage this week, so that’s where to find us from Friday onwards! We have loved living in West Bowling and will be sad to move from here (although it’s really not far away!) but are also looking forward to being part of the community in St Matthew’s parish for the rest of our time here.

Finally, today’s prayer:

Faithful Lord,

whose steadfast love never ceases
and whose mercies never come to an end:
grant us the grace to trust you
and to receive the gifts of your love,
new every morning,
in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Have a good week,

Hannah
